Editorial policy
How devlk researches, writes, fact-checks and updates its career guides, where our salary data comes from, and how we correct mistakes.
Developers make real decisions based on what we publish: which offer to accept, how to get paid, what to declare for tax. We take that seriously.
How we write#
- Clear authorship. Guides credited to a named author are written by that person from their own experience. Guides credited to the devlk Team are researched and drafted with the help of AI writing tools, then checked by our team.
- Sources for facts. Figures, fees, rules and laws are linked to an official or primary source wherever one exists (banks, government agencies, payment providers, company pages).
- Clear about uncertainty. When something varies or we are not sure, we say so rather than guess.
- Not financial, legal or tax advice. Our guides explain how things work; for your own situation, check with a qualified professional.
Salary data#
Salary figures come from surveys of developers and publicly available information. We only publish a figure when enough people have answered for it to be meaningful, and we never publish anything that could identify an individual.
Updates and corrections#
Fees, exchange rules and salaries change. We review important guides regularly, and every article shows when its content was last updated. If you spot a mistake, tell us and we will correct it and note the change.
Independence#
We do not accept payment to change what a guide says. If we ever earn a commission from a link, the article will say so clearly.
